Old west Train Mail car
« on: August 25, 2008, 10:04:38 AM »
I have started and old west Trian made from a toy set I picked up at Toys are us for around $30.  I wanted a Mail car but it did not come with one so I made this from a passenger car.  Its a WIP but close to finished.  The train set comes with a Steam engine, coal tender,2 passenger cars, a cattle car and a caboose

Very nice.  :D

Now if only we could get such trains available in the U.K.  :?

Looks fantastic and a good game-able space too.

I can see the bandits riding alongside the train, climbing in through the door and having a shoot out with the guards now.  :)

i recognise the frontline stove, but where did you get the other accessories from?  like you, i love doing interiors and am always on the lookout for bits and bobs.

Excellent work! Is it a soft plastic type or harder plastic? I occasionally see similar toy sets in clearance however have steered away due to the softness of the plastic.

Toys R Us you say?
What train set is this?
It is an awesome looking mail car, if there can be such a thing.

Its from FastLane, some kind of Toys'R'Us home brand. bandit86's mail car is a highly customized model. I wouldn't have recognized it as a FastLane car if not for the handrail. Now that reminds me of painting up my rail set...
