Ordered some shops from redvectorsmodels and was toying with idea of a raised area at back of town with smaller scale to make town look bigger and add depth or illusion of depth anyone done similar? Saw it on the model rail programme that's been on Tele recently

For a demo game maybe - but will that area be playable area? Or is it purely for looks? Because it might get in the way of a casual game and be annoying more than adding atmosphere.

It's a set table my set up is in garage with one edge against wall so that's where this would be placed so won't effect play. What I was think was a railway track station with a retaining wall behind wall a row of low relief buildings if that makes sense so that non playable part would be just a background piece amend something like 10cm deep everything below retaining wall is 28mm and playable. Waiting on my first 1/43 scale car to be delivered a morris minor van

Yeah - that would be cool. Means you could also set the mood with a (coal dust) sky.
