This was my first game at BLAM15 and it was brilliant, I was Sheik rattleanroll and I had a master plan that was thwarted when the dust cloud turned out not to be the Maxim I was hoping for but a pair of flipping camels :(
Apparently my face was a picture, but I won't print here what I said lol  :-X

Thanks to all those who took part and 'Followed the Camel' at BLAM 2015.  I had a great time putting on the game, made even more enjoyable by the positive comments that were made.  The highlights for me was the reaction of the players when they finally figured out the names of the terrain features such as Horsonne Wells (I'm not sure if Mason had finally figured that one out) and fighting in Dayshalno Pass.   :D :D

However the fit of giggles erupting from the Bedouin side when they played the Sandcastle Building Competition card (see the movie) on the Legionnaires causing them to miss a turn at a crucial moment was the most satisfying of all.  lol

The games were very closely fought but the Legionnaires just came out on top in both games having relieved the fort with only turn or two in hand in both games.

Sadly I was too busy to take photos of the games so I shall ask those who did to send me some or post them here so that I can have a record of the project finally being finished.  :) :)

....I'm not sure if Mason had finally figured that one out....

Finally???

Bleedin' cheek!

I still think it needs a dead horse on the base.
Even if you only want to flog it!
 ;D ;D ;D

Unfortunately for me I missed the opportunity to play on the day. But from what I saw everyone seemed to be having a great time.  :)
The table looked brilliant, I am in awe of you Gary for how you have put this whole project together in just a year. ;D

We like a bit of chaos in a game  >:D

And we certainly got it!

Bloody brilliant game with a lot of good laughs on the way.
Even when your 'elite' cavalry are out-performed by a bunch of restaurateurs..... ::)

Thoroughly enjoyed it and a treat to the eyes at the same time.
 :-* :-*

Great game.
Cheers, mate!
 :D

This was a real triumph; great table set up, fast and fun rules and the card system worked a treat.

Great game Gary! Everything looked great mate! The funniest part for me was trying to work out all the names! Genius! 8)

I got to be Sgt Knocker,  the Phil Silvers character from the Carry On film. The same thing happened in the game as happened in the film!

Muuuustafaaa Leeeeek!

Well the project has finally come to an end.  The two games I ran at BLAM were well supported and everyone seemed to have a good time, judging by the comments above.

Here are some photos taken during the games.

Thanks to all of you who supported my thread and gave me encouragement and some great advice and modelling tips.  8) 8)

Great looking game! It's nice to hear it all turned out well after all your preparation--the whole process has been inspiring to watch.

Really beautiful looking game mate and definitely worth all the effort that we've seen you put into it on=ver the past year or so.

If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take to get it all together?

It took a complete year to put the whole thing together starting in early October 2014, although I had painted 15 figures for the LPL in Apr/May of that year.

And a worthy achievement  8)

I know one really has to be there but the game looked to be one of the best I've seen in the pics :)

Darrell.
