Really beautiful work, especially on those borders.  Saved to the inspiration folder.

Beautiful work - I agree the trim on the cloaks is particularly excellent.

It makes redzeds painting 100 times better, when you know the quality of the miniatures. I own them by myself and was dissappointed about the quality. Bad casting, a the hands must be drilled, some structures of the miniatures were terrible flat. So my respect to redzed for this great work. You made the dead come alife.

Absolute nonsense. Did you get recasts? Mine were lovely. Yes, some were a bit flat, but they are great sculpts, the lot.

Nonsense? I bought via Gripping Beast and got this. Very Bad! Maybe you had more luck.

I think you were lucky. 90% of mine were lovely too. Unfortunately a few were poorly cast. The hornblower had such a socking great miscast mould line down the middle of his face that I had to sand it down to nothing and paint the details in.

This has nothing to do with the quality of Bill's sculpting, which I absolutely love. It's a casting problem and many leading manufacturers suffer from it.

I also agree that having to drill out the hands is a pain in the backside. Although the end result is preferable to the few figures with 'open hands'. Open hands seem to be the Achilles Heel of many an otherwise fine sculptor. Too often they end up like crab claws. Or Playmobil people hands. So actually, on balance, much as I dislike having to do it, drilling out a closed fist to accept a spear, gives a better looking result... It would help a lot if there was an indentation top and bottom of said fist though...

Very strange I bought lots of his Arab types and they were cracking, however that was way before they were cast by GB wonder if moulds were getting old ???
