Torture cage - Gibbet now painted
« on: November 01, 2014, 08:34:00 PM »
Inspired by the cage in the movie Willow I decided to start making this little piece of terrain. The cage itself is from some toy rest is scratch built with some plastic extra bits like skulls. Should have completed pics soon with paint and flock etc. Also still need to source a victim and build the bottom of the cage.

Brilliant! Can't wait to see it painted up

(Might have to borrow that idea for my own fantasy project)

Great stuff. There is a dearth of gibbets in 28mm, so this is inspiring!

Very well done Sir.  It will look even better once painted.  What toy was the donor for the cage?
This is my boomstick!

Can't recall much about the toy other than it was from poundland and had a see through plastic box with various bits and bobs including a dead skeletal dragon which I have also turned into a terrain piece and will be posting soon. But making a cage would be easy enough.

Anyway pictures of now painted gibbet below.

very nice, how did you do the grass, did you paint static grass or did it come that way?

Thank you for the comments chaps - at least my photos seem to be getting better took these pics using a white box.

The grass is separate little hairs type flock. Put on by painting white glue mixed with paint - so that if any shows it looks like earth under the grass - let it dry and then tap off the excess.

All I need to do is add victim any suggestions for a suitable figure?

Might use GW Empire Flagellent

Number G and or 4 in this link: http://www.solegends.com/marauder/mm65flagellants.htm

With bells and weapon and maybe even chains removed.

This.... is ...... AWESOME. I have been  looking for suitable inspiration for my own gibbet (for an empire themed game board) and I admit to be fully inspired by this master piece :D

As for a victim, maybe the empire chap from the giant kit, the one who appears to be running away?
