Looks great! I like the clear templates but yellow/orange would be okay as well.

The hollow bursts are a good idea, though I would like them a bit fiery.

Hear, Hear!!

Well said that man!

Must stay true to the canon, see the examples on the back cover of "Perilous Island"

That being said, would it make 'em FOUR times the cost of plain ones?
That solitary Scotchman in my otherwise Teuto-Swedish family tree would have a conniption...

As an unabashed, inveterate acquisitor absent restraint, I'll doubtless hafta have both.  Or more...

Yes, but note that you keep all Bursts on the table until the end of the round (or when injured/engaged/moves for short and long bursts). So then it's easier to have multiple small or large templates around. For me an ideal pack would be:

2xshort bursts
2xlong bursts
3x3" bursts
1x5" burst

Enough options to have all the effects on the table at the same time.

Methinks somebody smells a future firefight...

Superb rationalization, I'll buy, I'll buy!!

Does the card/dice box have provisions for stowage of these essentials?

If not, will there be a Mk II designed to make such an accommodation?

I am extremely excited by these.  After all, 16 months, & two days, ago I asked:

SO, a new question arises...

I can't find the ruddy burst markers available anywhere...

Not even here, the Land of their Birth...  [Pulp Alley Forum]

Are they yet another Vanished Species, doomed by the advance of "Civilization?

While they appear a simple, if elegant, clear, yet colourful, copolymeric creation, are they in fact made from Unobtanium?

Could they be, much like common sense, extraordinarily rare?
I mean, c'mon, let's face it, these days common sense is so uncommon as to be virtually a superpower right?

Surely they haven't sold out already & I missed 'em?

Hmmmmmm, this may require further study...

or beggin'....

I love it when a plan comes together!!!

Thanks for all your feedback.
These are my thoughts at the moment, although not set in stone (or Perspex) yet!

I will make 4 templates and sell them individually so you can make up a set with whatever balance you want.
They will be hollow because playtesting has shown that it is easier to lay them over figures and terrain with a cut out. This also means that if you are cost or clutter conscious you only need the two templates that I have photographed, but if you want a separate 3" blast and short burst you can do.

I'm not convinced about 'fiery' for two reasons, but open to convincing argument, especially if backed up with an example.
The gaming reason is that the templates are not WH40K flamer templates, the rules say that they can be used to represent a burst of automatic weapons or the thrashing of a monsters tail for whicj 'fiery' would not be appropriate.

The production reason is that engraving is a single color / single tone medium. The artwork on the back covers of the books goes through a wide tonal range from white through yellow and orange to red. If you engrave on Perspex you get the color of the Perspex (or clear) and white. Also you only have a narrow rim to engrave on a hollow template.

I am happy to make the Templates available in 'Volcanic Orange' as an option, these will be more expensive as colored Perspex is double the price per sheet as clear Perspex. They will not be double the price, as the cutting time will be the same and everything we make is costed on a formula based on cutting time and cost of material.
No reason that these should not be available to order by the weekend.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..."

Individual is good.
Hollow is brilliant.

Clear is clinical
"Volcanic Orange" is more appealing, yet hardly moving.

Not "fiery" is a disappointment.
"Fiery" is Pulpy, many things meant, bullets, bombs, danger!!

I confess to the seductive. and suggestive nature, of the original artwork.
I hadn't thought about the actual material itself being unavailable off the shelf.
I doubt there's much consistent demand for tie-dyed flaming hippie coloured Perpex.
Serendipitous sourcing of suitably shaded stock seems...unlikely.

Clearly I'll be a client soon.

Thanks Chris, for all your efforts.

I think by "firey" it was just meant that some folks would prefer the orange tint or such. Which you will already be offering!

Ayup, I don't think anyone is expecting fiery graphics on the template, but a yellow/orange might be cool. Personally, I'd be happy with the clear templates.  :D

With Pulp Alley now infesting Britain perhaps some intrepid soul will finally satisfy our hunger for officially sanctioned Pulp Alley acrylic Burst Markers in groovy psychedelic colours...

I truly wanted 'em like the pichers...

A 'Hot Rod' template if you will, all flamey n'kewl....

However, absent a ready source of flame coloured tie-dyed hippie kitsch Perpex...
