I found some time to paint some more Clone Wars X-Wing fighter.

I am one of the few old SW fans that also enjoyed Star Wars I , II, III. So I always waited for some ships for this era. Once FFG brought out the ARC 170, I bought some back market ships to flesh out both sides of the civil war.

The ARC 170 miniature had the wings and guns slightly warped, I decided to fix it by closing the attack wing configuration.

You are not alone :) (me too).

Nice work on these, especially the ARC 170 :)

While not a fan of the prequels, episode III had some really nice ship designs.
Not a fan of vulture droids at all, but it's a lovely paintjob.

The other 2 are awesome, and your PJ really makes them shine.

The animated stuff for the Clone Wars era are pretty good compared to it. The movies still had some fun scenes though and the ship designs are rather good.

Thirded!  :D

Really nice paintjobs, as usual.

I have collected a large amount of WotC Droid fighters, a Sheathipede shuttle and even a Kazon Fighter model kit for use as a Huge ship, to bring the Trade Federation to the tabletop as a complete, playable faction.

Made dozens of cards and rules, which have seen many, many revisions, but I'm pretty confident the entire faction is ready for fielding. I "only" have to repaint the entire fleet, but your Vulture Droid is a most welcome inspiration!

Great stuff; keep 'em coming. One of these days I'm going to have to bite the bullet, sit down and take pictures of my entire repainted X-Wing fleet (nearing 100 ships by now... ::) )...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Cool, do you have X-Wig stats for Vulture Droids?
I know there are many fanmade ship cards around, but I am always interested.
;)
If all fails I will field the Eta as an A-Wing and the Vultures as TIEs...

I have an XLS file which holds all the stats and rules. It's from there that I then make the cards.

If you're interested, I can send it to you. I'm about halfway through the cards at this point, but due to recalibrations to the rules, some older cards need adjusting again... ::)

I'd love to hear your input, before I release the entire lot to the world... :)

I keep forgetting to watch that. I really should.
I hear more good things about it (but for the fact that the start of the series ain't great).
Maybe that would get be a bit more enthousiastic about prequel stuff.

Wonderful thread and stunning repaints. Very tempted by X-Wing at the moment and this is adding fuel to that fire!

Re: "X-Wing" repaints - Hyena bomber
« Reply #119 on: 30 December 2017, 02:11:08 PM »
Back to Clone Wars (again)!

Hyena-class bombers, also known as Hyena bomber droids, were droid starfighters designed for heavy ordnance bombing runs. Based on vulture droid designs, hyena bombers had wider and sturdier hulls with huge wings to gain stability during flight. Like vulture droids, it could transform its shape into walking mode. These were used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems, against the Republic forces during the Clone Wars.
