Team Bob Homeward Bound
« on: November 22, 2014, 04:54:36 PM »
Having completed their mission for Trader Joe, the Team makes arrangements with the Captain of the Minnow to sail north to a larger port where they can get passage on a passenger liner for the trip back to the west coast of the US. Their progress is good for most of the first day when the first mate reports that their engine is running hot from a lack of Oil and they have to reduce speed drastically or the engine will seize up and they will be drifting at the mercy of the currents!

The Minnow slows to a crawl to make it to a nearby port where the captain will sell his current cargo and then be able to pay for Oil and repairs. As they so slowly make their way, a ship appears behind them and is steadily overtaking them! Very soon a Chinese Junk come along side in full sail and demands the Minnow surrender and prepare to be boarded!

Captain Blarg, "prepare to defend the ship lads!!!" Team Bob members deploy about the various levels of the ship along with the crewmen... Action is immanent... A small cannon on the Junk fires and only manages to sever some cables on the stern of the ship.

Team Bob and the ships crew rise and fire a devastating volley of lead into the pirate crewmen standing at the Junks railing, waving guns and torches! Bodies tumble everywhere, until, the teams action turns are up and the Pirates swing, literally, into action! Grappling hooks cascade into the deck of the ship, while other pirates swing from the rigging on to the tug! More pirates swarm from below deck.

A dieing pirate staggers and falls down the stairway to the lower deck of the pirate ship..... starting a fire below deck...  2 more cannons fire into the Minnows deck... and right through the bottom of the ship, which starts taking on water!!! Atchison grabs a crewman and rushes below deck to start the pumps when he realizes ALL of the crewmen are fighting the Pirates and no one is manning pumps or steering the ship!

On the top deck a Pirate falls and Edith and Amanda, who are standing back to back firing their .45s for all they are worth...when the impact of the pirate sends them all tumbling to the ship deck.. in an uncermonial  pile...(impact was ruled an Extreme Peril check for both)

Sarge, manning his red hot Sub machine gun yells out that the Pirate Ship is on Fire Below Decks and Might Blow UP!  Team members begin hacking the grapple lines and send a crewman to the ships wheel house...who is cut down by pirates!  Sarge takes the lead and fights his way to the wheel and after dispatching the pirate there, brings the setting to hard to port, pulling against the grapples. With moments to spare the last grapple line is severed and the tug turns hard, opening a gap between the Junk and the Tug.......KAAA BOOOO MMMMMMM!

The crewmen rush below deck and rig more hoses and pumps, the ship comes to a stand still in the water as hasty repairs are made... Captain Blarg asks "where the devil did the cargo go from the stern????"  "its overboard sir"... "Damn, we need that cargo for the cash to repair the ship and get more oil for the engine!!!"

Undersea adventure ahoy!!!

Captain Blarg!  lol

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

Fantastic AAR!
Thank you for sharing the continuing story.
I look forward to more.

This episode reminded me of this photo of Chinese pirates attacking a burning tramp steamer in 1930.

That's an awesome Pulp Alley scenario, Alfrik! We also played a high seas adventure this weekend. I'm sure I'll get some photos posted eventually.  ;)
