Finished coastline board
« on: September 04, 2008, 05:57:34 PM »
My camera crapped out after only a few photos but I thought I'd just throw these shots up for the hell of it. Someday when the boys come over for GibbonCon (three friends in my basement) I'll take some game pics with more terrain and all that. I'm just a tad disappointed in its overall look but I learned alot about using the grass and ground cover and I'm in much better shape for the next one. Next time I'm going to look at some reference photos and really try to nail the look of a real place.

The only close up I could get was of the livestock. Protect the goats!

The board looks fantastic from here Sky! I also like the goats. I have some sheep and pigs from Gripping Beast all painted up so your raiders can vary their diet a bit.

How could you be disappointed with that?! I love the vibrance of the green and the way it contrasts with the sea :-*

The goats are from Mega Minis. I love shopping that guy's ebay store, all kinds of fun stuff. Last time I ordered a wombat, a kangaroo, and some baby goats I'll add to the flock. I got some sheep too and an emu. I want to use the emu to do a "Joust" project!

I think the baord looks great, especially the sea and where the water is shallow at the edge of the coastline. Great looking figures too. :)

I wish I had gotten a close up of the Reaper squirell, watching the battle so he can scurry up to Asgard and let Odin know how its going.

My only real disappointment is just the lack of different textures, foilage and interest in the green parts. In the future I'll be better prepared. It will look better with some buildings on it too.

Hey! We don't all live over there!  :)

Though Pittsburgh would be a bit of a haul for me from New Jersey.

Great looking board though and if you ever make it out to the HMGS-East cons, be sure to swing into the Rattrap area.

I see what you mean about the lack of "texture". It doesn't bother me, but you could always add some jute twine reeds along parts of the coastline. With a small dremel bit you could anchor them in pretty soundly like little hair plugs.

Pyle picked up Broadsword Adventures last week. I'm sure it would be great for Viking raids.

That's stereotyping, that is! I'm offended!

...

It passed. Thanks for the tip on the goats.

It certainly would. I used it to run some at Historicon.

I listen to Cerrone in my castle. Does French Electronic Disco count?

I think the Gibbon is being a little hard on himself. Nought wrong with that board.
