Corbal Mobile Hardpoint (15mm)

So a while ago The Ion Age miniatures released a 15 mm scale model called the Corbal Deployable Hardpoint.  Basically, a gun tower dropped from orbit to fortify a position.  Great looking, heavily armed, what's not to like?



But I thought... why not make it walk?  I used some bitz, Lego and a 50mm beveled base to add some mobility:







The leg module and turret are attached with pins/magnets so the tower can be used as-is, and the turret rotates.



Amazingly, I actually got it painted up!

Such a fun project, although it took me ages to finish.

I found the original model a bit dull and "generic Scfi-Fi book cover from the 70's". Fine and all, but not very exciting.

Your mod with the legs though has really improved it however! Somehow, it now looks a bit Star Wars to me, although I suspect that the paintjob's helped there too. Really nice work!
