Does anyone recognise this toy?
« on: December 02, 2014, 05:10:31 PM »
Hi
I picked this up in a charity shop .Its 9inches long by 4inches wide and 2inches tall. It has an R2 unit in the roof that makes noises .On the base the copyright is Lucas and Disney. I don't recognise it as a Star wars vehicle and i'm curious to find out what it is.
Can anyone help?

sorry about the poor photos

many thanks
Dex

it's the vehicle they use on the "Star Tours" ride. They sell them at the parks.
I am looking for the following Deadlands minis:  Shotgun Thug, Lost Soul, Cleaners, Railroad Workers & Feral Dead. If you have any of these minis, or if you are one, please send me a PM.

Thanks. I've not been to that adventure park so had no  idea, and it does explain why i didn't recognise it from Star Wars

That is Awesome!
I'd chop that R2 off ASAP and have a nice civilian transport.

The Star Wars tour was closed when I was at Disneyland Paris.

I sulked. Nemo's sub just isn't the same.
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

Been on the one at EuroDisney. (I think I might've preferred Nemo's sub...) But yeah, chop off the R2 and you could easily mistake it for another franchise.

Wow, I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't even think of that! It really does have a certain Roddenberry'esqe quality.

Couldn't resist. Just pulled the trigger on one (missing the roof) on ebay.

I'll probably ripout the chairs and rebuild the roof, but it won't need much work to make it a nice generic spaceship terrain piece.

Given the Scifi nature of this thing and the fact that it could be of interest to others, I've moved this thread to the Future Wars section.

Strictly speaking, shouldn't it be Past Wars?

You know, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away ...

 lol *Groan...*

You know, I've always wondered if that line was actually in reference to our time-space-continuum or rather a vestige of that whole "Journal of the Whills" mumbo-jumbo. I mean, it's not like it didn't require the Expanded Universe to actually provide the Star Wars universe with a "future history" angle.

Until i saw ths i didn't realise the roof could come off. I think mine had been glued on. Those rows of chairs inside  will be pretty useful for some other scenery too

Time for some surgery!
Good luck removing the roof. Do the doors open on  yours?

The seller says that mine is functional and the electronics work even though it's missing various parts. We'll see….
I'm not counting on any of the electronics though. I'll just be happy if the doors open.

It featured in the new 'rebels' series, in the episode droids in distress
I love all forms of wargaming and model making, provided it is in good taste.
