Thanks for all the encouraging comments, my very first project that got me into painting miniatures were ZOMBICIDE zombies but I burnt myself after the sixtieth monochrome zombie or so and quit painting for a while until I picked this up. It seemed like a daunting challenge at first but having a maximum of five of the same miniatures really is refreshing and they provide great variety and color! color! You can't imagine how much fun color can be after sixty monochrome zombies. Gah.
A few of you have commented on those colors specifically which I'm happy to read because those cartoony, high contrast color schemes were exactly what I aimed for. The dungeon tiles in Descent are colorful themselves so these guys really have to pop to stand out. The beautiful dungeon tiles is the reason why I rebased all models, that and Descent providing dungeons, swamps, forests... however you base them they are bound to look out of place at some point. These clear acrylic bases prevent that from happening and they do not hide the beautiful tiles.
I haven't played the game in a year and now that it's finally fully painted I look forward to playing it again. My next project consists of a bunch of civilians, militia and treasure piles to complement the game further and replace a bunch of cardboard tokens.
