An affordable Trebuchet for 28mm Fantasy gaming.

My buddy showed up to our last Kings of War game with some new artillery made from prepainted Mage Knight pieces.  They looked so good that I decided to take a somewhat similar tack for my Chaos Forces.

They're pre-painted (basic tabletop), compact enough for a ranked miniatures game, quite affordable and when rebased they look pretty good.

Did I mention I made 3 of these?  Gotta love a good arms race!

It could be, though the timbers would be really big. Still, most anything goes in a fantasy setting.  In the blog posts you can see it next to a fantasy 28mm figure, but if some measurements would help, it's sitting on a base that is 50mmx70mm

£15 goes down as very reasonable to me.

That looks a lot like the pre-painted D&D trebuchet from their last round of miniatures (not the current 5e range).  I have a handful of these for the same purpose, just haven't gotten to them yet.  Your basing looks great.

Ha Ha Ha , I just played a game of KoW and my opponent had four of these in his Undead army , a quick drybrush and some flock on the base add a few  Zombie crew and all done , for about $2 each a real bargain.

£15 goes down as very reasonable to me.

I paid about $8 (4-5gbp) for mine.   The Fenris is a very nice model and $25 is definitely a fair price, but my KoW army is a bargain-project and $75 for 3 is a bit too much and probably a third of what the entire army cost me so far.

Yep, as it says in the blog post it is the D&D model.

The rocks to stabilize the wheels are incorrect IIRC. Chocking the wheels seems intuitive, but on wheeled trebs the forward/back counter-motion of the frame when the arm was released actually increased the efficiency of the arm and made for longer throw ranges.
