The Man from BLAM painting and modelling contest.
« on: 16 December 2014, 03:49:54 PM »
Time for a fun painting competition where we would like your valued opinion on some stuff that was done recently.
 :D

At the recent BLAM event a figure was given out to each of the participants.
I thought it would be fun to see how each of those who received one would interpret the same figure and how they would present it.
Conversions were allowed, just as long as the figure was still recognisable as the original.

The original figure sans paint and unconverted....

(Due to technical difficulties it is not here now but a picture will miraculously appear here later.... ::))

Here are the entries............................

First up is 'Reggie' by Captain Blood

....remorseless all-rounder with the bat and the double-barrelled: Today informally attired in his City shirt, UKIP tie, Treasury trousers and weekend (county) bowler.

Secondly we have 'Agent Tesla' by Bobble

..............M.O.O.S.(E). Agent from the Experimental Weapons Branch, wielding his Tesla-powered rifle.

Up third is 'Bo West' by Hu Rhu

....Bertram Oliphant West of the Sahara, adventurer and current residing with the Legion at Fort Zwazantnerf.

Next is Dr Monochrome Moon by Vikotnik

....painted only in black, white and red in homage to the flag of Imperial Germany.
 ;)

Last but certainly not least, we have The Funk Soul BLAM Man by S44lade

...this cool cat is straight from the streets of Harlem, Sporting his Botham signed BLAM bat and a pistol grip sawn-off for crowd control.

Which of these chaps gets your vote.
Don't forget, we are not only looking at the painting but originality should come into it too.
 :D

They are all wonderful. Hard decision, but the danish guy vikotnik is a nose in front. So 12 points (my vote) to denmark with vitkotnik.

If he trims it he'll have no place to keep his comb!

I have to admit that when I first saw the pictures of the Soul Brother I cracked up.
Very clever.
 8)

Some great work on all the other entries too:

The superb paintjob by Captain Blood, not a scheme that I would have dreamt  up.
Ever.

The great brushwork by Vikotnik with the wonderful use of a very restricted palette as a challenge to simply 'painting' the fella.

The wonderful 'Tesla Rifle' constructed by Bobble.

and....

the seamless conversion by Hu Rhu to make the chap work for his Saharan project.

Well done, chaps, and Thank You!
 :D
