Matchbox SUV for some Liberation ALQ
« on: September 09, 2008, 01:50:05 PM »
If you want to use a matchbox car for your 20mm guys, always remember to shave the MATCHBOX letters off of the tires! Doh!

lol Its not too bad, but a wise observation for future models. Nice work by the way. :)

You can always highlight them with white.....c'mon, you know you want to  lol

Nice job though, but you never have problems with chipping when using square bases like that? And those are Liberation figs, right?

Yes, they are Liberation. This is the first car I've done up and I just put it on a base to try to visually re-inforce its transformation from a toy to a wargaming model. I'm painting these guys for the hell of it really. They aren't likely to see alot of action or travel. If they did I don't know how the base would hold up. Have you done something similiar?

Jeez-o-man. I hope I have "a bit" of models someday. Incredible site. I could ask you a ton of questions about your models but I'll spend some time in your galleries and with Google before I drive you crazy. Everything looks great, thanks for the link!

The sheer amount of Vehicles available at that level temps me to start collecting 20mm...... :'(

I'm glad you guys posted this. I just bought a bunch of diecast 80's cars from a toy line called "American Graffitti" and one called "Sweet Cherry Rides" (or something like that) that were a tad big but still passable for 20mm moderns. I'm doing a "Red Dawn" style campaign set in the 80's and the line of cars was perfect. Seeing your stuff along side similar cars at a similar scale, means I'm not alone in this thinking.

That Red Dawn game sounds great. I got some Liberation armed civilians with no real idea how I was going to use them but now I may have to steal that idea.
