I also have thought of adapting Ronin to 16th century European conflicts - such as Border Reiver raids.  Should work very well, as it takes into account different classes of armor, the effects of early firearms, polearms, cavalry, etc.

There might be some useful figures from The Assault Group and Warlord Games have announced plans to release some figures that could be suitable too.

I was looking at Warlords Scottish Lancers, a bit late but may do the job. What others have they announced?

I imagine it's the range announced almost 5 years ago by Arsenal Miniatures. Figures were sculpted by Paul Hicks but were never released. A while ago Warlord Games bought the range from Arsenal and they have arranged for Paul Hicks to sculpt further figures. They are due to be released in early 2015. The figures are 1560s / 70s Spaniards but I guess some might be suitable for rievers.
