BFaS - simple questions
« on: 28 December 2014, 11:03:51 PM »
These may probably seem stupid questions but:

Is there anything specific to indicate the game has ended? eg time limit, number of turns etc?

At skirmish level, there are three morale levels, good, disorganised, fleeing.
Is fleeing only caused by a drop of 2 points from failing a morale test?

If a unit morale level drops by 1, and then again by 1 in a later turn, does this have any effect?

A skirmish game is usually 6 turns and a larger game (divisional) 8 turns.

If you fail a morale test by less than five, you morale drops one level from currents status. From good morale to disorganised or from disorganised to fleeing. If you fail by five or more, the morale level drops straight to flee.

Skirmish games last 6 turns. Division games last up to 8-12 turns depending on your preference or whether you want the battle to end  when some condition has been met.

Morale level drops is perhaps badly worded in the rulebook, what it really means is that there are three types of morale levels

Good (organized)
Disorganized
Fleeing

When you roll a morale test and fail it by 1-4 points you become disorganized
When you roll a morale test and fail it by 5+ points you become fleeing

When any of those units are rallied they regain Good morale level/become organized again and can be used normally.

Example of morale test:

Unit has Morale 5 and is forced to take a morale test. It rolls a 6, which means it failed the morale test by 1 point and becomes disorganized. Had it rolled 10 it would become fleeing.

Many thanks.

We couldn't see a game length, but 6 turns for a skirmish will make life more convenient.

Also we totally mis-read the morale, and on a minor fail dropped morlae e.g. from 5 to 4, then from 4 to 3.
But the clarification should make a significant difference.
