Late Romans/Early Byzantines for the Holiday
« on: 29 December 2014, 02:35:39 AM »
Motivated by the many pics of lovely Late Romans I have seen here recently, I used my break to finish basing my own late antiquity efforts. Some of these were my first stabs at painting after a decade or two and had languished on my table for a whiles as I moved to new things. I thought about repainting but decided I would base them up and finish painting the rest of a Late Roman/Early Byzantine army.  These fellows will fight Huns and Goths that I have finished recently. Hopefully I will have everyone out on the table this next week to try out some of the new Ancient rules that have come out over the last few months.

The Heavies

The General

The Standoff - Don't stab the Armenian

Rally Round the Draco

Legion

Allied Warriors

The Pursuit

Very nice shields. Are they hand painted?

Thanks everyone. The Frankish warriors are LBMS but I made the effort on the Roman shields. The only exceptions amongst the Romans are the yellow legionary shields with the facing dragons. With those I used VVV transfers and then painted over and highlighted.
