Anyone ever tried to use "puffy paint" on a miniature?

I was thinking of adding some stitching on a coat & had the thought of using "puffy paint" but I'm not sure how small you can apply it & still get a raised effect. Anyone else ever try this?

I've added some relief before on miniatures using glue. Sometimes even just glue threads, if minute details were required.

Puffy paint (I take it you mean the stuff that's used by the ladies to draw kittens and hearts on girly T-shirts?) I feel would be way too unpredictable and voluminous to be used on miniatures.

If you require that amount of volume, I'd recommend using green stuff or another putty instead...

Maybe try Valejo's Gel Denso ? you can even add your paint to it.

Test it out on a piece of plastic before you put it onto a figure.
But I have some sitting around. I might test it out for myself.

I've only ever used it to represent rivets on scratchbuilt vehicles, so I can't answer the question directly.  I was looking for a nice round bump, not trying to see how small it could get.  I can tell you that after priming, it takes paint like a champ and is robust enough to survive heavy use.  Here's a shot:



Come to think of it, I painted that tank, then added the rivets using black puffy paint, and then added the dash of silver paint to the rivets on the treads.  After a spray varnish, it looked fine and held up in regular play.

And I have the stuff, have used it for frogging but on 1/32nd 54mm figures, but never thought of RIVETS!  And I need to do some so I will give it a go...
