Alternate Stat take on ATZ FFO.
« on: January 07, 2015, 06:05:56 PM »
Reading a fellow members ATZ campaing batrep, I started musing about expanding the Stats beyond Rep, Savvy and People. This is what I have cobbled together so far.

STAR: When you create your Star you pick the attributes you feel are suited for the character. When you do an Extra, roll a D6, on a 1 they have a score of 2, on 2-5 they have 3 and on a 6 they have a 4.

I think it's fine to have the slight possibility to have a 2 in an attribute, as to me it indicates no knowledge of firearms/ pacifist (Shoot), never learned to drive (Drive), not interested in technology/ butterfingers (Tech), annoying personality/ timid (People) etc. So still the average Grunt/ Extra would have 3 across the board, but sometimes they have a better/ worse quality, well, that's just people for you  ;).

The expanded Stats are as follows:

Morale: Used for Activation and any Willpower related tests (ie Seeing the Feast)
Shoot: Self explanatory
Melee: Self explanatory
People: Meet & Greet
Tech: Hotwire cars, picking locks, operate computers etc
Fitness: Fast Move, jumping, climbing etc.
Drive: Self Explanatory

As far as Morale go, here are my rough guidelines:

2- A person who has a very non demanding job/ stressfree lifestyle.
3- Most people in a normal day-to-day life, shopkeepers, busdrivers, office workers.
4- People who have to make important decisions, even including life/ death, police, firemen, doctors, officers
5- These are used to making BIG decisions that have a far reaching impact and can cope with lots of flak.
6- Invincible Iron Man/ Iron Lady

For an example, creating the Star of "me" I would state: Have previous military experience in active service but haven't fired a gun in years, have CQC/MA training, work in a sometimes pretty stressful environment and can cope, pretty good people person, bit of an all thumbs, in great shape for my age and I have a driving licence.

Morale: 4
Shoot: 3
Melee: 4 (special: never considered to be Unarmed, at least Improvised Weapon)
People: 4
Tech: 2
Fitness: 4
Drive: 3

Attributes
Medic (1)
Initiative (Morale +1 for Activation if operating alone)

The most important thing in the hobby is that you're having FUN! Doesn't matter if you win or lose.
