Force of Arms M35 Truck converted to M49 Fuel Tanker
« on: September 13, 2008, 06:56:38 PM »
Basically wanted a M49 Fuel Tanker for my Anti-Zombie force, but couldn't find one, so ended up converting a FOA M35 (which the M49 is based upon) into one, using plasticard, and a cardboard tube.

This is what i wanted:

And this is what i made:

Shape looks spot on, nice camo and weathering too.

The tank looks a little lower against the cab than the one in the photo, so I guess yours is full.  :)

Bout the only thing i really hate is the rear doors. Seem too big and bulky and unnecessary. The rear doors could have been scribbed in i think. BUT, they do look much better as a painted unit. But jsut the doors. Nice simple conversion indeed. Nothing like a roving mobile flam truck to take on the hordes of zombies milling about town. :-)

Nice one. Looks good to me.

In my job I find myself working day-in, day-out on 1940s GMC Deuce-and-a-half stuff to the point of tedium. So when a REO comes along it is a nice refreshing change!  :)
