tanker/oil truck - availability?

Hi,
I'm looking for a tanker/propellant/oil truck in 28mm / 1/56 range that would be suitable for pulp games. Does anyone know if there's a company making one, or if there's something close (like a truck with a flatbed) that could be kit bashed to make one?

Have you tried ebay die cast vehicles.
"Days gone by" and "Yesteryear" ranges have some tanker type small trucks. Cheap as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  Those card stock models look too futuristic for what I had in mind, I'm really looking for something in plastic, resin, or metal that would fit easily into the 20s and 30s era.  I'm building a refuelling truck for my rocket corps troops...

After some research online I think I'm going to go with something like the Sloppy Jalopy Ford AA flatbed and then kit bash the reservoir tank on the back from my bitz box.  Would still be interested in hearing of any other sources or see pics of any fuel trucks people have in their fleets.  I'll post pics of mine when I get it done.

I use 1/64 vehicles. There are Corgi Superhaulers that come rather cheap, though these are European truck models.



American trucks in 1/64 are available from Winross, Ertl, First Gear, etc. These are rather expensive being scale models of collector´s quality. Try Ebay...

Thanks for those as well.  The reservoir tanks are cool but kinda pricey just to get broken down for parts, but the yesteryear truck obviously has the right 'look'.  I think I can replicate this feel from the bits box..

I used an old model T chassis, extended the back and added extra set of wheels to make the truck. Then I bought a round wooden rod and cut the "tank" to length, covering the cut ends with very thin sheet styrene. Added a lid to the top, ladder on the side and other odds and ends and was happy with what I got in the end.

There are lots of promotional vehicles in the UK by a couple of firms, Lledo or Oxford Diecast (may both be the same company) that usually appear in advertising logos.

Generally non-specific trucks or vans, but you do sometimes get tanker options.
They often turn up cheap in charity shops etc

Is there not a US or Canadian equivalent ?

Force of Arms make some nice '30s trucks in 1/56th resin.  (I think their GAZ AAA was based on a Ford model A)

I'm with gamer Mac.  You should look at the die cast available on ebay and other places.  I find them very cheap at my local weekend swap meet/flea market.  I've found tanker trucks, double deck buses, lots of cars, panel trucks... all from the '20s and '30s era.  Last weekend I got a 1931 Stutz Bearcat and and a 1930 Packard Victoria both are Matchbox Models from Yesteryear.  They were $3 each and still in the boxes.  Good luck with your project.
