Slowly building forces for Homildon. Another MAA!
« on: 12 January 2015, 11:45:34 AM »
Not another Lion Rampant thread?!  >:(

Oh yes!  :D

The good news; It looks as though I've managed to secure a place on a Lion Rampant campaign day. The 'not so' good news; Its at the end of the month, and I haven't painted the army yet!  :o

I've already got some of the superb Claymore castings figures which will be my starting point. The rest of the army is in the post..

So far, cleaned up, based and given a quick black wash ready for undercoating with a spray can. This is about half the force. If I've got time ( lol ) I'm going to try and fit in some sabot bases for them..

So can I paint more figures in a month, in between work and family commitments, than I did in the whole of last year?

Don't click 'here' for updates on my blog, because I haven't got one.  ;)

Sporadic updates to follow.

So did you do the wash to fill those awkward to reach crevices and then spray as normal rather than spray and touch up the missed bits? or is it some fiendishly clever tecnique I am unaware of?

Don't distract me! Not that I usually need too much help on that front...  ;)
That does remind me though I need to take some photos of the marines I've been painting..  ::)

I hope so.

Washed to get to all the really awkward bits. Spray paint never really covers chain mail particularly well anyway. But seeing I was in a rush I didn't want to waste the time going back over 30 odd figures to touch them up.  :)

Thanks for the support gents.

Errr....  ;)  lol

Base work all done, two colour drybrush. Just about to start on the metallics, which will be the bulk of most of the figures, especially the knights. Pictures after (maybe).  ;)

Right, getting there.. Armour and bases done on all figures. The longest part (at least in my mind) as its covered most of the MAA. I've got fleshtones to do on 25 figures, but its mostly faces, and I've dropped my usual method down to a triad for speed.

I've also got the sabot bases finished bar some flock and tufts.

And finally (stupidly... ::)) I've converted a figure to use as the leader...

A week to go. No problem.  ;D

Looking good Ray, keep at it!

Don't suppose you fancy doing an article on this LR project for the magazine? You just keep creating the WIP photos and write a few words, plus you would get paid!

PM me if you like the idea.
