Elk's Build - Building continues - wall render
« on: 31 January 2015, 02:24:39 PM »
I completely finished my build then realised that the start date wasn't until tomorrow so I took it apart. Shame too, it was great.  :D

Heh. I'm glad we all got the smack talk starting early.

Ok, Plan A is to create a meat cold store facility for modern gaming. I'm thinking along the lines of a central cold store with some smaller cold stores that would be used for variations in temperature requirements. Meat is apparently normally stored at about. -2.2 degree C so a few smaller cold stores for lower temperatures would be practical. I've looked at condensers, blowers and evaporators so they'll have to be included. The floor will be concrete and I'll go for an old style tiled wall rather than a modern lining. The look will be an old facility partially upgraded rather than ultra modern. I intend to use it for my South East Asia modern imagi-nation,  zombies and perhaps at a push Judge Dredd as an old black market meat locker.

I'd like to incorporate hanging meat so I may have to make them.

Plan B is an exploding ACW cannon.

Plan C is to give up.

Sounds great. The 40K Kroot plastic set has bits of hanging meat that may be useful.

You know I was sure I'd seen meat on a plastic sprue somewhere. That's probably where, cheers Karsten. I may have to try some putty pushing.

Happy to send you some if you want.

Thanks mate. I'll have a dabble myself first to try and keep the 10% non scratchbuilt element and save you the hassle!  Very kind of you though, cheers.  :)

As it's Day One I'll say a big "good luck" to everyone participating.

Cheers!

Unfortunately Plan A has the most amount of work,  unlike Plan C, which is easy!

By the way, don't Google 'meat locker' as an image search. There's stuff there you really don't want to see (unless you do, in which is fine. Each to their own  :D).

Floor plan sketch. It's a gaming piece rather than something that would probably work in practice.
