Stuart, it is amazing how both your conversions and painting fully capture the time period.  You are "a Renaissance man" indeed.

Top notch, you acually use the same tool that I sculpt with, I think it's one of the best ones, great to see you becoming more and more confident!

Possibly my best yet.

The body, arms and head are from the Perry plastic ansar tribesman box. The arm carrying a rifle was cut and swapped with an arquebus.

These are barefoot so easy to add the distinctive oxmuhle shoes. Some of the heads in the box are bareheaded so fairly easy to add hair and then a square cloth cap. 3 evenings of sculpting and drying for a nice early 1500's french arquebusier  :)

lol thanks Richard I'm very smug with him !

I still need to file the shoes a bit as they look a bit like my nan's slippers.

I bought one Ansar sprue on eBay and for heads and a few extra arms which work seamlessly with the other medieval sets they're worth it.

For sculpting conversions like this one there's 4 useable bodies I reckon. All in this running pose but running under fire from a martini rifle or a cloth yard arrow it still works.
