Italian 28mm who makes good ones?

Hey guys recently got Murat from gringos 40s and also recently read Andrew Uffindells " Great Generals of the Napoleonic Wars"  He talks a great deal about Eugene de Beauharnais and Murat in Italy.  So going to do a couple of Battalians of Italian infantry who makes any good ones. Perry does not. Any help appreciated.

Hi,

Must admit I've always thought that the Italians were more or less wearing French uniforms but painted different colours.

I've got an Elite battalion plus a few more made by Elite which are in the lead pile.

They look really good.

Alternatively as Oriol has done, you could use Perry Plastic or metal, or Front Rank etc etc.

Pre-Bardin French uniforms should largely be fine just painted up in Italian colours following full Italian integration into the Imperial Army. I don't have immediate access to my books but I seem to recall that other than a few exceptions the uniforms were largely similar. This website is useful for Napoleon's Italian troops:

I still have my eye on those Mamelukes for my 1812 stuff. Many Italians and Russians need to be painted first though!

Ged, I'm believing! My fingers and toes are crossed! After seeing your Murat I can't think of anyone better to make Eugene.

I have always done my Italians by painting what French figures were available with the colour schemes of the Italian Army. Watch out for the right combination of red white and green because each regiment had a different one. The only troops which may be a bit more difficult to do might be the Horse artillery or some of the specific regiments such as the Dalmatians
