Report from the Column...
Kind of good news and bad. The 2nd. Malakand Field Force came on in fine style weathering some wild firing from the rocks. The Black Watch carryied Bongo Ridge at the point of the bayonet. Lieutenant Harry Faversham's South Essex Regiment, supported by the 1st Chapati Grenadiers, pushed up the valley. With the intrepid Harry at their head, they stormed over the bridge and into Bongo. A brisk close quarter fight ensued and all the believers died to a man, young Harry was wounded in this fight and carried to the rear.
While all this was going on General Sir Neptune Blood K.C.B personally lead the Vindaloo Fusilier Regiment on a flanking move to storm the other bridge. They were ambushed at the bridge by Mad Mullah Budbudd Dingding and a horde of screaming savages. A desperate fight took place around the bridge and dried up river bed. Sir Neptune fell wounded and the Vindaloo Fusiliers valiantly defended their leader till all the believers were shot and bayoneted... though Mad Mullah Budbudd Dingding's body was not found among the fallen.
Doctor Pearson, the world renowned Entomologist, and first cousin of the Widder o' Windsor was found hiding in a cupboard, and the column, carrying it's wounded began the march back to civilisation. As they passed beneath Bongo Ridge a single shot rang out. Doctor Pearson, the world renowned Entomologist, and first cousin of the Widder o' Windsor clutched a hand to his heart and fell, dead as a doornail...
Mad Mullah Budbudd Dingding had, had his revenge!
