Thanks, guys!

Today was, and tomorrow will be, spent on painting a pirate for the current PC, but then I'll start painting the next member of my first Blood Eagle  Viking warband.

Well done Niels - nice paintwork. I think the GB generic Dark Age warrior plastics are a bit ropey to be honest. Poses are not quite right. They tend to look like they're suffering from some kind of contorting elbow/knock-kneed affliction. But that is a paintjob to show off to best effect. The face is great :)

Thanks!

Yes, the left arms of those are best concealed behind shields, but as I constructed a band of light raiders, only a couple actually carry shields, most do not (sacrificing protection for speed).

I hadn't really noticed the knees, as they all carry slightly baggy pants with all kinds of leg wrappings, but, yes, you may have a point there, too.

At least they are dirt cheap, making it possible to create the rank and file of many Dark Ages armies, and I think they look better in numbers, where the beholder sees a body of men, not focussing on the individual model. Never the less, I am going to use them for my skirmish warbands, too, as I like the price (I really need to start spending less silver on gaming, as the girls now are of an age where I want to show them Europe during our vacations, and travelling is not cheap!).

Not my own stuff, I've put up some pics of a Dark Ages game I played/participated in at Horisont last year on my blog.

Here's a teaser:

It was that game where we slaughtered almost the entire opposition, but our 'avatars' died, and we still lost.
I think it was rather late Friday evening. Frede (I think he is called? - the guy with the beard who is an archaeologist or something like that?) was hosting the game.

I think so, yes! I actually thought he was the one with your nick, which explains why I have been somewhat confused sometimes  lol
