The credit goes to Dr. Zombie, then  :)

Dr. Zombie, great scenery!  ;)

Not finished anything lately, but I have now cleaned up all my Gripping Beast civilians (and glued them onto washers).

I still need to put some tools in the hands of the males.

Painstakingly slow progress, as the UEFA Championship in France demands most of my attention  ;)

I have been painting a bit today, but not finishing anything.

Instead, I have cleaned up a Manx:

Argonor, all you need now is a lost lamb, a pretty shepherd girl looking for it and the beast in the woods...  ;)

I finally managed to get my second Viking done.

This was my first attempt on Little Big Men Studios shield stickers, and I am quite content with the result.

Thorstein adds some ranged combat potential to the warband:

Thanks, both!

The shield is a LBMS transfer/sticker, I only painted the rim on (it is one of the flat shields with no sculpted rim), and, of course, the boss.

Nicely done - the basing also adds a good feel to the miniature.

Thanks!

Yes, I think individual models profit tremedously from a little extra effort on the basing. When basing minis for a unit, I mostvoften just do the soil and some patches of flock.

And Ivar is ready to rain death on the opposition (or, almost - I noticed after taking the pics, that I forgot to paint the clasp on the 'baldric').

More pics and Ivar's profile on my blog (colour breakdown will follow later).

Pink was a very common colour in the Dark Ages, as red was an expensive/difficult colour to obtain and thus favoured in order to show wealth/position/prowess - but it faded very quickly, as proper 'fixation' was not an option until High Medieval times.

Maybe not as vibrant at the one shown here, but definitely quite common.
