Having completed my Teutonic Knights I needed someone to take them on.....

The mounted Druzhina, militia and archers are from Gripping Beast and the mounted Mongols are from Fireforge.

I don't know how long these will take to finish but I will post regular updates.

On a side note I would just like to say how awesome Gripping Beast are to deal with. As part of the Druzhina units I bought the Alexander Nevsky set. Unlike other sets he comes in a pack of three minis rather than 4. I asked if I could get a single Druzhina to make an even number which they did with no problems. They also supplied the mix of horses I wanted and the shields I wanted. Real pleasure to deal with.

Nice figs. I like the mongols in particular; their poses are excellent. if they turn out even half as good as their Teutonic opponents, they'll look amazing once painted

Just started painting my Druzhina cavalry and have decided that this will probably be slow going........
First up is my "Prince" and his standard bearer with a home-made flag.

Can I propose something regarding Russian titles?

Instead of prince, you can call him boyar (high ranked Russian noble) or bogatyr (legendary Russian hero). Can help you choosing proper name for him.
