Imperial de Toledo, Volunteer Line Infantry Regiment
« on: 01 March 2015, 09:25:02 AM »
Hi all,
The Imperial de Toledo Regiment, completes the third unit in General Portago's divsion at Talavera in 1809.

The regiment was hastily rebuilt after the crushing defeat at the Battle of Medellin in March 1809, and unsurprisingly was one of the units that ran from their own volley fire on the eve of Talavera.

If you would like to know more about this unit and progress on the project as a whole, then just follow the link to JJ's

Stunning paint job - am really enjoying your articles. As I am also (after stopping and starting for 10 years) wish to wargame the Peninsular War and am at the moment am raising my own armies, I am finding your blog a real inspiration - thanks for sharing :)

Hi adamish, thank you. A big part of the fun of doing this stuff is firing up others to get into the Peninsular War, so I'm pleased to hear your back into the painting.

There will be a lot of things happening with the Talavera project with regular posts planned to update everyone on the progress. Thanks for you comment.
Cheers
JJ
