There's some more info here

http://www.beastsofwar.com/congo/studio-tomahawk-visit-wargames-illustrated-showing-congo/

If you blow up the images, the cards give some interesting clues about how the game works.

Between Congo and the Tarzan movie coming out next year it looks like 2016 is shaping up to be a good year for Darkest Africa Pulp/colonial gaming! I'm really looking forward to both the game and the movie.  ;)

Hopefully this set of rules will trigger the release of some new Darkest Africa figures!

Cram, I've a;ready contacted a company that I though might produce some mini's for the game and they said they had no plans to do so. (it wasn't Foundry, though I doubt that they will either).

Still, there's plenty of other companies out there! The thing is; can they compete with the superb sculpts that Copplestone did for Foundry?

Darrell.

North Star have a DA range.
Might they add a few new pieces?

As it goes North Star just put out a tweet saying there will be new figures for 2016!  :) :)

North Star also plan a reprint of 'Death in the Dark Continent' as well as new DA figures.

If the Tarzan film released next year proves to be good, it should hopefully fan the flames for more new figures.

I agree its unlikely we will see new figures from Foundry....hell they haven't released any new figures for a few years now that I know of. I'm not holding out much hope on Copplestone either. I had hoped North Star and it looks like they are going to deliver  :) Must be some other companies though, quiet a few out there that have colonial ranges.

Interestingly the latest issue of Wargames Illustrated has a full page advert from Foundry.
And it's just "Darkest Africa".... which makes you wonder....

Probably just a coincidence

Inside the back cover if you care to check it out.

Foundry may well have learned about the upcoming Congo rules. It's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.

I hope that they have and I hope, though doubt, that they will be adding to their range.

The one thing that was 'bothering me' about these rules, the name; Congo. Although all acts of Colonialism by the European powers were 100% abhorrent and unjustifiable in any human terms the Congo was a particularly brutal inhuman regime.... so will the rules reflect this?

I do hope that I've worded this well. I've just woken up with a stinker of a headache and my head is, well, aching! (Oh, it's not a hangover, 'tis the dreaded man flu!)

Cheers,
Darrell.

Despite the name of 'Congo' for this set of rules I'm wondering if it also covers the other regions of Africa also. The pictures at the start of this topic show a game taking place in the Savannah.
