Thank you Suber, Vermis. As the rank and file of the crew are rather pragmatic, I wanted to go a bit more Blanchean on the boss.

A little sidestep today, I had this mini lurking in a near-finished state for, well, far too long now. Originally just meant as a conversion for conversions sake (I played a lot of Mass Effect 2 at that time, and like all things, I fed that back into my hobby), he could also serve as an alien bountyhunter in Inq28:

And the stash of collapsible weapons on his back, showing the ME2 influence the most clearly:

Thanks! Just cut and glue, no greenstuff, a fun easy way to convert. The only hard part was carving the kroot beak into the mouth with sidejaws...

Ah, that's it, it had me bugged but I had not seen any Kroot in a while so thought it might be a variant of the sprue :D Well done!

Means I need to start making some Tau covert agents and strike teams now.

Loads of great ideas and wonderful execution here.  I am very interested to see a few more of these painted.  The not-Kroot looks really nice.

Thank you guys!
Commisarmoody, there's an idea... Hmmm, I believe I have an ethereal, some air caste and a sprue or two of Fire Warriors laying around somewhere. I may have to steal that idea further down the line.

Cheetor, I'm looking forward to getting them paint-ready. Still a fair bit of green stuff and bits to go on each of them. Also, I'd like to say that I really like your blog, it's a constant source of amusement and inspiration.

No problem, I am a great ideas guy. I just suck at getting my ideas done myself.  lol

Wonderful subtle conversion on the Kroot head.

I like the sound of the Tau strike team too.
Go for it!

Great job on the Kroot!

And here is a little more progress on the void suited scavengers:

The priest has the gorget and neck sculpted into a full collar, and a plasticard stomach plate added, as well as boots. Crowbar dude has a full collar as well, plus his stomach armour. He now only needs his kneepads and toecaps added, before I can add the rest of his gear.
The lady now her void suit complete, with full collar, stomach plate, kneepads and toecaps. And she has hair!

The hair was a bit of a hassle, as it went wrong several times. In the end it isn't as perfect as I'd like to have it, but it will do the trick. Here's a better look:

At this point the female scavenger only needs a base and some additional gear and she would be ready for paint. I'll wait until I have a few more at paint ready stage though, before I break out primer and brushes.

The crew boss I've put aside for the time being, as I'm still figuring out how to style his stomach armour. I did file his gorget into a more elegant shape, in preparation for cleaning it up with greenstuff later.

Very cool, and I wildly endorse the sentiment I'm seeing in this thread.  2nd Ed. was always my favourite...back when GW was a failing business run by true gamer geeks and crazies.  The industrial might of lawyers and good business has turned them into the EA Games of miniatures (read: not good...mass production without soul).

I still love the fluff, and still enjoy things like Necromunda, Mordheim, etc.  I fully endorse the atmosphere and the environment.  Heck if the minis weren't as expensive as Elephant teef I'd gladly pick up some GW figures and play "other" rule sets with them.  This is an incredibly cool idea.  Alien, anyone? :D

Nice progress on the characters and though I'm not familiar with ME2, the TaRoot is a very well done figure.  he looks cohesive enough to be an entire faction.
