The ACU is the one I was looking for

ACU = Army combat uniform
UCP = universal camouflage pattern :)

Thanks for the advice! I had considered basing hte uniform in the sand colour, and going progressively darker with the green/greys.

That's another way to go for sure. But when in doubt I plumped for the mid shade and then added dark and light splatters as said - obviously I had to do this first so the rest of the model wasn't splattered in wee bits of paint at the end!

It came up on another forum that I forgot to show the Special Forces and Bomb Disposal ones, too.

How did you do that reflection on the visor?

Cheers. The visor was kind of an accident really. I started out putting a 'ghost' image of the face in the middle and then just started mucking about with reflective bits of light. It didn't look quite right, so I put a big streak of white down the middle, then panicked and wiped some of it off. What was left seemed to look about right, so I left it.

Very nice indeed.  8)

Got any references for USMC camo circa 2003? I'm not sure what came between Chocolate chip and Marpat.

Three colour DCU was the pattern adopted in the mid 90s post the six colour 'chocolate chip' and before desert MARPAT which began to be widely issued in 2004.
