15mm Post-Apocalypse, UK & Europe
« on: 10 March 2015, 10:16:02 PM »
Since a lot of the recommendations for 15mm PA gaming (although very nice sculpts) come from the US, I thought it might be good to put together a list of suitable miniatures from UK and European sources. No matter the source of the apocalypse (plague, aliens, zombies, nukes), all are welcome here! So far I have:

- Modern (and occasionally WW2) military figures from your favourite supplier as surviving veterans & vehicles
- Peter Pig's AK47 range for a variety of civilian survivors, and their Wild West cowboys & villains for blokes in long coats. They also do sprues of separate heads which are great for conversions.
- Matchbox & its clones at the poundshops for vehicles
- GZG's space pirates, reavers &c.
- Fireforce 15 for Falklands special forces and Rhodesian troopies - excellent survivors
- Irregular Miniatures' sci-fi & riot ranges for gribblies and civvies
- QRF's modern civilians & rioters
- Irregular & Peter Pig AWI Indians might make good woodland tribesmen
- 15mm.co.uk has a host of paramilitary, alien and gribbly miniatures to suit
- The Scene has government, special operations & survivor miniatures
- CP models do some SAS and sci-fi miniatures (and heads) which could be useful

Also
- Warrior & Irregular Miniatures' orcs, goblins, beastmen and ratmen as degenerate mutants & morlocks
- Caesar Miniatures now sells 20mm plastic ratmen who would look terrifying in 15mm

Are there any European stockists for Khurusan, Rebel Miniatures or Splintered Light?

be careful about 15mm producers, though: somehow the 15mm sculpt improved significantly in the recent years, and most of the "old" sculpts are ways less detailed and proportionated than the new ones.
It's the same difference between the '80s models and the modern cool stuff, somehow... I've got a few peter pig and GZG and old Rebel Minis, and compared to newer Khurasan, newer Rebel Minis, ClearHorizon or others they look... well, primitive.

Besides, shipping from US for small parcels isn't that expensive now...

It's not so much the postage as being mugged by the Post office/ Exchequer that puts me off.
