Back to 25mm Mars
« on: 11 March 2015, 12:33:46 AM »
Well it's been years since my Space 1889 figs have seen the game table, even though I have been adding to the forces. So yesterday they came out with some 100 newly painted Colonial forces. The occasion was the first meeting of our new once a month Monday  game.
The battle took place along the docks and before the walls  of the great Martian city Mikkoom.  As usual some religious fanatics had captured some Earth Politicals and were of course defying the new Colonial Powers from Earth. British, French, Russians and Japanese versus Red, Green and Blue Martians.

A write up here and some pics, http://martianwarsin25mm.blogspot.com/

Great looking game - the blinds for your own troops I will have to try out one day.

Very nice. It looks a lot like some of the Mars games I have played in. Always fun to see what others are doing on Mars!

Thanks guys,
the Elite Cav is actually the officer model in the Legion of Mars, just a lot of converting
.

I have a pile of spare infantry officers and cavalry officers from my last order to RAFM.I may just have to look at how you converted them, to add some more variety to my own forces.

Bravo Sir, thanks for sharing.  :D

To give variety to the cav, I cut a couple of the infantry in half and switched the torso. The rest was mostly removing the sword and adding a lance, the shields came out of my ancients box.

I have a Martian cav unit using the legion mounted officer too. I bent or cut & repossisioned the arms a little & gave one a long pole for a flag.

This makes me very nostalgic for when Space 1889 and the Soldier's Companion first came out.  Thanks for taking me back.
