Any good for VSF? New release 23rd March
« on: 12 March 2015, 11:31:45 AM »
We've just added another Spacelords re-release to our range and someone on TMP said they have a "brass and clockwork" look that would be good for VSF.

What do you think?

With the right paint job I think they'd make splendid Aether marines or clockwork automata.

Personal bias puts the weapons a bit off, but otherwise, looks like a win to me.

Thanks for the comments. Obviously, they haven't caused a flood of excited VSFers desperate to purchase but - hey...

Regarding the weapons. They don't look terribly appropriate but given the ingenuity and skill of LAFers, I doubt that weapon replacement therapy would be out of the question.

The weapons might work if you made them a combination of wood and brass.

Well, I did say 'a bit'.  ;)

I'm entertaining several ideas. One is Craig is bang on, though a really weird VSF device might have a glass barrel for...?

No bashing heads with the butt!

Otherwise, various combinations of hoses, pressure gauges, or immense brass cranks would put them right.

Er, the clips would either go or be repurposed, but do they really switch between right and left feed?

Hmm - you're getting a bit technical for me now. I just pour the metal in and try and sell 'em  :D :D :D

In the image above, the clip is on the right side of the weapon on the left, and vice versa...

I don't see a clip in the center.

Not just technical but weird perfume references? I'm out of my depth.

Regarding the clips. I've no idea why but the sculptor was German so it must have been intentional.  :)

Michael is on here, perhaps he can answer that?
Maybe they have a pass through feed and one of them is empty?

As for VSF, yes, with the right colour scheme they would certainly work.

I'd agree. I've ordered a set, and they'll be seeing service in Sci Fi, with supers and probably also VSF.  :D

Which also fits in with the fact that one is carrying an ammo box - I think you've cracked it; certainly that's what I'll be telling anyone else who asks... :D

They're here  :D :D :D

Very nicely detailed, and they should be fun to paint.

Didn't take too long to get there. Look forward to seeing them painted.

I can see them working in VSF no problem - well in my VSF world anyway :)
