Which one's Mike Hoare?

That lot should look impressive when they are done!

Mike Hoare is in his jeep bottom left and on foot in the 3 figure command group below it. Seigfried Meuller (Congo Meuller) mirrors him on the right of the picture with mounted and foot versions also.

Wow! No5 Commando.  :)

A project I've always wanted to do but have so far never got around to.

Must go and watch 'wild geese' now.

You could add some armour.A M8 greyhound or a Ferret armoured car would look nice. And do'nt forget some Cuban mercenaries led by a CIA agent

Ah yes, I see them both now!

I'm sure they will be instantly recognizable when painted.

Hoare's book was one of the first military accounts I read - it was in the school library, would you believe  ;)

Hi Paul, Great project you have lined up.

I was asking after your health yesterday through Michael as we were visiting an old army friend of mine and friend of Mike and Ailsa's too. We all had a lovely afternoon an evening!

Best wishes,
Helen

I'm hoping this little project will kick start the end of the year for me as far as painting goes. I had some time away from it over the summer for various reasons but it's time to get going again :)

I was lucky enough to pick up a second hand copy a couple of years ago.  :D

Hi Paul, good to have you back! Iīm looking forward to seeing that project unfold. African Wars and the Kongo have interested me for a long time, but I couldnīt really get into it somehow. Would you care to comment on the overall quality of this range from Britannia? I remember seeing them in various issues of Wargames Illustrated years ago, but the pics there were certainly unfavourable and had disencouraged me from getting some...

Great to see you back, Matakishi. I'm always inspired by your projects, and I'm really looking forward to this one.

Did you finish your Tarzan one, by the way? That looked really cool.
