Two more repaints of the metal 28mm Lucky Luke range by Editions Atlas:

The Undertaker (le croquemort):

Calamity Jane:

Before and after (although technically "after and before") shots of the figures here:

Excellent stuff as usual, the Undertaker is my favourite, I think.

So, did the real Calamity Jane look like a bloke as well? Was there a real one? What year is this, who's the president...?

The undertaker has such a great face. Best in the range.

Oh, she was real, all right.  Real name was Martha Jane Cannary, 1852-1903.  Worked as an Army Scout for several years.  Indian fighter.  Nurse.  Ox team driver.  Stagecoach driver, etc, etc.  Lived in the Deadwood area and was good friend of Bill Hickock.  Here's Calamity at age 43, c.1895.  Does look a bit like a bloke, doesn't she!

Oh, and Grover Cleveland was President of the US at the time.

Blimey, she is a bit butch looking. I certainly wouldn't, although something tells me I might not have been given the luxury of choice with her...

(And sorry, the thing about the president is a line from a sketch show, The Fast Show, where a man dressed in a spacesuit would interrupt sketches and asked in a panicked voice what year it was etc. Probably only means anything to Brits.)

Well, she was a dancehall girl for a while and several times she worked for the Black Hills' leading madam but I don't know whether she was actually a 'soiled dove'.

Billy The Kid, the underage terror of the wild west:

Elliot Belt, fearsome bountyhunter and obvious ancestor of Lee Van Cleef:

Indeed. Not many projects I've enjoyed this much in ages.

...even though anevilgiraffe hates them... ;)
