Finished my galley fleets - just hexed my sea
« on: 19 March 2015, 09:02:29 PM »
Today I emptied another 'to do' box and I can call another collection done. When I started collecting these things I did so I could throw another kind of game together quickly - I have no idea when I thought this many was a good idea but I'm pretty sure I'll never need more.

I really like these Xyston 1:600 models because they have much more 'chunky bulk' than 1:1200 models.

Here's the roll call: http://olicanalad.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/ancient-naval-roll-call.html

Here's a pic of them all lined up:

That is a lot. There needs to be a big game now...

That's a little bit special, nicely done.   8)

Wow what a great looking fleet. Deffinately more than a match for the 2 dozen galleys that I have in that scale.  :o

Thanks guys,

Now I'm back to painting my SYW Austrians.

Next planned battle, though, is Actium 31BC, so I'll probably tag a report and scenario to this - or should I start anew? It's a difficult one on this forum to know how to place things. Some things seem to be very ongoing, others seem not to be. Advise.

Regards,

James

Start anew. We'll keep an eye out on it though.

Very impressive olicana! They look great.
I would say keep on posting here instead of starting new. Just add to the title (e.g. Finished my galley fleets - First game 29.03.15)
Most people dont have time to read all posts and read only the ones that sound interesting or have lots of replies (must be good). The shorter threads often just slip through the net. Also if it keeps being expanded more people have a chance to discover it.
Looking forward to seeing the game pics.

That - agree completely, it makes it much easier to track and pay attention to your work, and notice when you have added new stuff  :)

That looks awesome!

I've always felt strangely drawn to galley naval games but never quite known where or how to start.  lol
