Hi All,

When building my fleet of Steam Powered Armoured Wagons I used 33mm Lego wagon wheels but I also bought some 28mm ones for testing. I didn't use them and that left me with eight of those just lying around well I've decided to build a 'Steam Powered Landship' using them. This would be the Europeans answer to the Yankee built Steam Powered Armoured Wagons. I'll build this eight wheeled leviathan with twin turrets fitted with 32 pounders, four MGs in barbettes, wooden decking, a command superstructure, two funnels and a mast...plus lots of rivets all painted in wonderful battleship grey!

The first WIP pictures below show off the basic shape:

The figure is 28mm and the regular Steam Powered Armoured Wagon is shown for comparison:

Cheers!

Hey All,

A small update the Landship's superstructure is complete port holes, rivets and mast...

In place with a 28mm figure beside the landship...

Hoping to get the funnels done and turrets detailed tomorrow as I have a free morning!

Cheers!

Hi Again,

Further updates on the Steam Powered Landship...

Turrets detailed, funnels completed, superstructure completed and coal chute added to rear hull plate...

To do; four barbettes with guns two per the hull side, an entry hatch, lights and about a hundred rivets on the hull! Then it'll be ready for some paint!

Cheers!

What he said. Very effective and quite believable in its design. :)

Hi All,

Answering a couple of questions!

The Beast you'll find those funnels in your bathroom! To elaborate much to my partners chargrin I collect all the interesting bits from various containers/jars etc she tries to throw away, I even grab the springs from the disposable soap dispensers and keep everything in a box in the garage, well you never know when these things will come in handy ;D ! Anyway the funnels are made from electric toothbrush brush heads and the noozles off a hair conditioner bottles cut and glued...I know its sad!

And Gamer Mac, the cannons are home made I fashioned a barrel 'end' from milliput and caste up multiples...

Ill have an update tomorrow on my progress I'm hoping to paint this weekend.

Cheers

Well, not MY bathroom. Have a couple of electric toothbrushes on the hobby table, but I was trying them out as mini-sanders/polishers.

As for saving junk, before her disability, my significant other kept me in check. Now that I'm her 'caregiver', I'm thinking I need a caregiver to take that up, as well.

Must say, at least you follow the thing through.

'My God, that vase would make a quirky stylized smokestack! Those platters remind me of the Russian circular coastal battleships!'

And, they are still platters and vase.

*sigh*
