Yeah, so a "Mass Combat" game with 15-16 miniatures per starter box; which has prepainted miniatures produced by people with seemingly no relevent miniatures experience...

"Cautiously Hopeful" is about the best I can do until we see a lot more stuff.

suspect the secondary name "Circle of Iron" was probably the original, Conan is popular and just did very well...  So quick change...

Note in the pictures "miniatures approval guide"

and most notably " prototype blah blah no pictures - Pending Licensor approval" hmmm, assume they already sorted "Circle of Iron" tm.

Wish them luck, will take a look maybe, but probably not my cuppa tea.

was distracted busy, did not read the smaller details

but between the recent conan KS and all that I am in for that, and bloodrage.. I think maybe I am maxed on conan for this year. Then there's reality, bills, mortgage etc

George Vasilakos is our local game store (Zombie Planet in Albany NY, USA) owner, so my catching playtest/demo games is likely.

His list of past projects has already been mentioned by ced1106 but he missed George's first game, the Battlelords of 23rd Century CCG from back in the 90s.  Seriously obscure at this point, no surprise George doesn't highlight it on his resume.

I thought this could be an interesting warfare game between Hyborian Nations....but the story on the Pulposaurus Facebook page talks about monsters,...monsters and monsters versus Conan and his aquilonian army ?!!

It is said pirates found the Iron Bound Book of Skelos on the Nameless Isle, guarded by obscene, toad-like things and buried beneath the statue of their pagan god, Tsathoggua. The black-hearted buccaneers sailed west with their prize to the coast of Kush, where after several misadventures, it came into the possession of Thoth-Amon, Lord of the Black Ring and Speaker of Unholy Set.

The Book of Skelos allowed the sorcerer to raise an army of monsters—demons from the pit, creatures of the natural world, and even beasts and champions from other times and dimensions. But Thoth had been defeated before, and his greatest enemy, Conan of Cimmeria, now sat on the powerful throne of Aquilonia.

Thoth would not just raise one army—he would share pages from the Book of Skelos with other wizards and warlords until Hyboria was a shattered, blood-stained ruin. These Legions of Set would threaten every corner and destroy every foe. And when they were through, Thoth-Amon and his servants would rebuild the world in honor of their dark god.

They are shamesly trying to exploit the recent KS success which has brought Conan back to the spotlight.

I think they are missing the point enterely, message was clear: quality game with nice miniatures and absolute respect for the character and his background is a winner.

Things like the last movie which uses the name and little more are not going to attract fans. In fact all this "Conan plus BIG MADAFACA MONSTERS" is repelling me, they clearly don't give a damn about the background.   

I don't think I'll fall for this.

Still.. if by any chance the prepainted minis are good they will be drafted for the many skirmish games that we have available, Epic Heroes, Open Combat.

Granted, well painted 28mm prepaints seems unheard of ( maybe "undreamed" ? ) but so would have been my guess about x-wing before the minis came out...

Agree....because when I read the rest of the story.... 

Nations, rivals, kings, and bandits all fell before Set’s Legions—or joined it in hopes of escaping destruction. King Conan and his allies fought the forces of destruction but their numbers were too great and their monsters too mighty. In desperation, the Priests of Mitra brought forth their own Book of Skelos from the dark vaults beneath Aquilonia. King Conan resisted almost to the point of no return, but a strange encounter on a battlefield in Kush changed the barbarian’s mind. Those who were with him said King Conan fought a younger version of himself—from the days he was known as Conan the Reaver. That battle convinced the king that he must fight black sorcery with black sorcery.
Conan relented. The Aquilonian Book of Skelos was brought from the darkness. Priests, captains, and champions from allied lands were granted knowledge from the unholy tome and became the Circle of Iron.
Now Set’s Legions battle the Circle of Iron across Hyboria, pitting swords against sorcery and towering monsters or slavering beasts against flesh and bone.
It is a time to fight, o prince. It is a time to rise. It is the Rise of Monsters!

Conan did battle giant snakes and some demons, but this game seems to be taking this way too far.
