Lots of the games that I play hinge on NPC type characters.  I have used a few models here and there over the years to represent these, but I have rarely got around to working on civilian projects.  Thats something that I have wanted to change for a while now.

With progress on my non-ruined urban sci-fi terrain progressing nicely, I figured that it was time to start populating it. Therefore the first of my sci-fi civilian sub-projects - a construction crew - got painted this week.

Models for my civilian projects that feature here will likely be painted to a lower standard than my regular protagonist figures.  I am planning to treat them a little more like terrain, if that makes any sense: the emphasis is a little more on throughput than usual.

The big robots are from Mongoose Publishing/Warlord, the small robot is an OOP fig from MegaMinis, the hard hat guys are from Wargames Foundry and the soft hat wearing gents are EM4 Spacelords.

More photos etc in the blog post.

Thanks for looking :)

Absolutely brilliant vision, topped of with a top-drawer paintjob.
 :-* :-*

Your ability to knock out such wonderfully original figures, with great brushwork to match, always impresses me.
I always look forward to your posts.

Just remembered, Brigade Models do a 15mm Not-WallE http://20mmandthensome.blogspot.nl/2011/09/super-death-robot-of-doom.html (don't mind the converted cooler on his back, that's mine) that works fine for a smaller service/repair robot in 28mm.

Great looking crew  8)

Do they sometimes break more things than construct? Are they just bystanders or is there any special rules for them... the big bots do look able of giving back some hurt :D

Excellent idea and the painting is superb as usual. The whites and yellows work so good on these! And the Cylon visors of the big robots is spot on. So yes, top job once again.
