Brilliant! Especially the Massage parlour scene! The 'masseur' reminds me of Bull Gorg from Necromunda.
Now you need another version of the good killdozer wearing his caterpillar tracks :D :D

Thanks for the feedback everyone :)

The painting is terrific and those movie stills are out of this world.

I have been trying to up my photos a bit recently, to light them a little better and to get more in context images.  They dont compare with some of the pro level stuff seen around here, but they are OK.  I do get a kick out of trying to get something close to what I imagine.

Its the Executioner from the Malifaux range.  He does have a bit of the Bull Gorg about him now that you mention it.

Yeah, I would love to have a classic look Mek-Quake.  Westfalia Chris made an intimidatingly definitive model of that version, but I dont think that I have the patience for a project like that.  But maybe if I can think of a quick way to do a deent approximation.

Not-WALL-E is from GZG.  It can be a bit hard to find but this link takes you straight to the entry.

Thanks Cheetor  8)
In the Necromunda fluff Bull Gorg was killed, but my take is he escaped and lived to fight another day - to Malifaux, it seems!

Mek Quake with tracks - well, you'd need a head, a flexible neck and a suitable tank..... hmmm, would be a nice project...

So that's where it was  :D
Yup - not easy, but even making a reasonable attempt is fine. The good thing is that in the comics the style was not consistent, so there's a range of possibilities.
Go on, you know you want to  ;)

It's the 'aaaaaargh Shorten! You steal my focus! How am I supposed to paint anything when you constantly show me awesome stuff that makes me rummage through the lead pile to find scifi figures to paint!'-kind of good.

The good kind of "Aaaargh!" then :)

I have my eye on the Bombshell figs and the handful that I already own and have painted are very nice.  I think that my next Bombshell purchase will likely be Edofleini to go with my alien brains force.

Meanwhile back on topic, I put together a quick step by step on how I quickly painted the Construction Crew models shown here to date.  It illustrates the simple approach that I take to painting things like this in order to get them finished as fast as possible so that I can get them on the table to game with and get stuck into the next thing.  It might be of some interest to someone reading.

I keep remembering other miniatures nestled away that are perfectly suited for inclusion in the Construction Crew.  Usually its just when I am nodding off to sleep, which isnt ideal really.

These two are Sedition Wars minis, each a different version of the same character "Barker Zosa", painted in exactly the same way as the rest of the models shown so far.  This first large photo is a bit unflattering in places, but the finished paint jobs are easily good enough for purpose I reckon.

I have never previously put any time into OSL so I have been using this project to practice it.  There is plenty of room for improvement, but I think that its getting better.

It proved way more hassle that it was worth to try to get a photo of Barker in the exo-suits face, so you will just have to trust me that her has one and that I painted it (before I glued the roll bars in place).

The crew is getting quite large now.

The blog post about the pair of Barkers is here.

The second group today is some more 'bots.  While going through a minimalist phase in painting about six years ago I very quickly painted and dipped these Mega Minis robots and based them for a boardgame (RoboRally).  A couple of weeks ago I decided to rebase them and add some further highlights for adding to this project.  The sculpts are a bit crude, but they have character.  I quite like the look of the group, its nice and Futurama-esque.

The blog post for the refurbished robots is here.
