AAR/ACW, Oak Grove, June 25th 1862
« on: 29 March 2015, 07:48:47 PM »

A week ago me and some friends at my club staged the battle of Oak Grove(25th of June 1862). It's a battle in the American Civil war that took place during McClellan's peninsular campaign. The real battle was inconclusive, however if the Union had won they might have ended the war already in 1862 (That is of course pure speculation). In our game we did not manage to change change history in any way what so ever. In any case I have put together an AAR. I have also thrown in some data for the Black Powder rules.

You can read more details on my blog.......

fine looking game. You use quite small units or am I wrong?

You are quite right. In order to stage larger games we tend to use the following breakdown....

Each unit represent a regiment

Small unit 2 bases with 4 figures on each base
Normal sized unit 3 bases with 4 figures on each base
Large unit 4 bases with 4 figures on each base

The battlefield consist of two gaming tables with the size 180x120cm/6x4ft. The movement rate and ranges are 2/3 of the ones given in the Black Powder rulebook.
