I've been so busy in the early part of this year that my own painting schedule has taken something of a back seat - finally, I think I'm up and running again. This week I've managed to squeeze in a couple of units of Austrian infantry

Hope you like 'em.

Foundry figures?  Nicely painted and I like those blue facings.

very nice units, front rank SYW are some of the nicest sculpts for this period, good output on your painting, it would take me
an age to paint that many figs

Just added a unit of Esterhazy Hussars to the army's OOB. I think they are rather pretty. More shots on my blog
http://olicanalad.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/esterhazy-hussars.html I hope you like them as much as I do.

It has come the time to bite the bullet and do some basing :-[

I hate basing, so I always leave it til there is loads to do >:(

Now it's even worse because I've started doing labels for everything too http://olicanalad.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/basing-and-id-labels.html, twice! Still, I suppose it finishes them off.

Nice work!

Wouldn’t be easier to do basing when a unit is done? If you hate basing, and do it all at once it might be overwhelming, no?

I like the labels. I’m guessing the first part with dates and names are "Regiment names" for a given period and the names at the bottom are battle honours?

Anyhow, that' splendid work as usual!

Cheers!

Re: At last, some SYW progress- started basing (17/4/15) with labels

It would be easier, but I never do it. I just keep painting to get the army big enough to get good use out of. It's always the same with me. Perhaps I'll try and break this habit from now on and paint up just two or three units before basing.
