It is 16 April 1945. After the greatest artillery barrage of the war, the last offensive starts. Soviet and Polish armies advance towards Berlin on the whole front. The Polish First Army is attacking in the northern sector, between the 61 Soviet Army in the north and 47 Soviet Army in the south. The Poles have to cross the Oder and attack west, towards Wriezen and Alte Oder.
The main task of the 1st Polish Division is to establish a bridgehead and reach Alte Oder. The 1st Regiment already established a bridgehead near a railway bridge. At 1500, the 2nd Regiment will cross the Oder from Siekierki (Zäckerick).
Lt. Sarmorov's platoon acts as the first wave, tasked with scouting German positions and establishing a bridgehead.
The 5th Jager Division is positioned between Neu Glietzen in the north and Alte Oder in the south. 2nd battalion of 75th light Infantry regiment is positioned at the river's bank, across from Zäckerick. Yesterday, the Germans repulsed Polish scouts, but the main attack is anticipated today. Units were withdrawn due to the artillery barrage, but now the Germans have to reclaim their first lines of defence.
Yesterday, we started our first Chain of Command campaign. You can find more details on the rules used here:
