Star Wars project - Binary load lifter complete
« on: April 19, 2015, 08:34:19 PM »
Just one for now but I have others to do  :)

Not the easiest figures to clean up and paint, being bendy and all but it's not bad for 20mins  :)

More to follow after Salute.

cheers

James

Very nice - especially for 20mins!

What/how did you prep him? I have a dozen or so knocking about, and have always been a bit unsure about re-painting them (because it looks like a lot of work, despite yours and Agis' excellent results...).

Thanks  :)

It was basically scraping the mould lines off with a sharp scalpel (of which there are many and I did miss a couple), giving him a coat of the brown GW ink and the touching up with white in a couple of coats.

He got a new base as well and is pinned to it as I'm sure glue alone wouldn't cut it.

cheers

Ooh James, that trooper has turned out quite well. 8) 8)

Don't forget to give a good hot soapy bath to remove oils and things first or the ink will pool.

I've been considering whether to undercoat spray (perhaps the more sanded/modified minis) but I'd rather not waste time on 're base painting the mini, lol.

I've used S Steve's superglue heavy basing method. So far it's a nice tough finish on top of the washer and blends the base in well.

Best of luck.
Matthew.

Nice one, mate.
 8) 8)

What with the new trailer and just acquiring a bunch of suitable buildings recently on the Bazaar, I can see my Tatooine project pushing its ugly head up the queue pretty soon.
 :D

Maybe we should get together for a game when I do.
 ;)

Excellent!  :-*

He has a really nice battlefield look going on.

Yup, it is a bendy WotC mini. Have done some too...
Indeed a challenge to paint.

Good man  :)

We played a four way game of X-wing tonight and during turns I finished painting the other four troopers that I've got so far.

Piccy of the game. No report as such as these things don't tend to translate well into the written word but much fun was had  :D

And here are the five troopers done. These aren't the best painted figures but they'll do for me  :) Got to get three more for a squad and then some 'good guys'...

cheers

Nice troopers. If that's what you manage to do between turns of a game..  o_o  o_o ... we all might as well give up  lol

Cheers
