Cheers, I've had a lot of comments reminding me of the Baron and I have to say this must have been an unconscious thing really ! after it was pointed out to me t felt obvious but hile painting it just felt like the thing to do !
I'm really looking forward to more of these Colony 87 models as they are everything I like in a 28mm model.

Here's a cyber assassin I built on the basis of Aenur Sword of Twilight :

Conversion was a simple one as you can see :

All about him and more shots in the blogpost .

Simple but effective conversion and some really nice freehand on the cloak.
Love the grunge too.

Great idea, excellently executed.

Nostalgia aside (note to self - go to attic and dig out big box from 25 years ago) - these are brilliant. ALL ABOUT CHARACTER which I think the tide is turning towards now, perhaps? Rather than 'super-cool' Infinity/Gates/GW/etc.
Great painting to boot.

Mostly about miniature painting and collecting, mostly 15mm non-historical, but then anything goes!

Well thanks a lot people, all nice to see some people like character over "bigger and badder" ^^

Since you guys like character, how about some civilians ?

People like orks and alcohol right? Well I thought I'd mix the two to see how it tastes. For me a good game of Rogue Trader has to have NPCs even if they don't do much in the game, they just give the vibe of the game like the bass line in a music tune :

Yes Ork civilians are super possible ! ;)

Now here are a bunch of NPCs I painted for a game of Rogue Trader I had the other WE. I added a couple more models to my classic RT adventurer pilot for good measures and it was a fun occasion to see how painting felt with a lead, a resin and a plastic models at once...

I unfortunately didn't place them on the same line which reinforces the scale difference. Painting those only confirmed what I already knew more or less, while resin models are more detailed and plastics prove fun to convert and build, the metal model is still the one I enjoy painting the most because of the caricatural pose that clearly states what you have in hand and because of the character it has (instead of dramatic poses recent resin model often have and the sometimes weird poses kitbashes have because of the parts they're built from)

More about them in the associated blogpost HERE.

Nice project! It's great to see how unified they look despite the obvious difference in the sculpting!

Cheers, honestly at TT distance you don't care anymore, I think it's best to select what you like to paint rather than focusing on scale too much. ^^
