Can you share what paints you use to create that greyish skin tone on many of your works? (e.g. Helmawr gang, Colony 87, etc.)

I'd love to try something similar... or copy you in other words.

I'm using bronzed flesh from the game colour range as a base with a wash of diluted agrax earthshade and then highlight with the base colour with added Ushabti bone. I'm changoing the recipe now though as this one was developped with bleached bone. Ushabti has a strongly more yellow hue which I'm getting tired of so i'll probably work on something from cadian flesh now.

While we're here, let me show you some scenery I've just finished painting !

Great scenery from Fogou which was a delight to work with.
More about those in the blogpost as usual. ;)

Very nice indeed.
Good to see another take on them as I shall be picking them up myself pretty soon.

Thanks for the tip - I would never have guessed these colours.

Also, the buildings look great - perfect timing for me as I just salvaged some plastic packing trays to combine with corrugated card to make some cruder versions of the same thing - definite inspiration for some potential fine details I'd not considered. - Thanks again!

It's the colours for the guys on teh left and middle in the pic above, the one on the right has a base coat of Stone grey from PA with diluted agrax.

The buildings are really nice to paint, can't advise you enough to try them really !

Now you must have seen a few orctober posts already and this is a celebration I've grown fond of over the years. To take part in this, I've decided to get some paint on a couple of Kev Adams sculpts (25 years apart at least) which both show why he still is the goblin master !

You can read more about them in the blogpost.

Here's a painting exercise I've attempted for a challenge on a FB page.
The aim was to paint a single miniature using 4 pots only, black, white, turquoise and orange. As easy as it first seemed, it was a very strange experience ! I tried to ficus on the process more than the result since it was an exercise to me and it's incredible how one can learn from getting out of the comfort zone !

A little more wordage in the blogspot as usual

Intersting insights and the model did turn out well.

I've tried the same experiment using limited paints, sometimes I deliberately don't use black because it's such an easy colour to go to for a quick result.

Your eldar looks great ! The subdued orange looks very natural and contrasts well with the turquoise. He has a suitably wraith-like appearance for a harlequin.

I honestly very rarely use black but for lining and a few other uses as well.

Now here's a terrain piece I did earlier this month but could only show today because it was part of a competition on the Trash Bash Facebook group.
The aim was to build a vehicle, terrain piece or anything using trash bits and a good load of modelling skills. ^^

Now scenery is always a nightmare to photograph so I hope you get the idea !

You can read more about the building process in the blogpost !
